Very disappointed with this charter. First off they didn’t give a weather report of 5-7 swells. Which did not bother me but 20 people were puking. I get that. But what I didn’t understand is that the guides were more concerned about fishing for mahi then helping everyone unhook caught fish. The charter was so packed everyone was tangling lines and they took forever to address this problem. Next, I reeled in a fish and the guide was very slow to react so I lost a beautiful fish. There was not much instruction or help but the thing that bothered me the most is the way that the main lady (deck hand) was handling the fish that were too small or at limit already. I understand that they have to stab the fish to release air before sending them back in the water but this lady was literally doing it with no care at all on were she was stabbing them and most times had to stab them at least twice.. We went on 6/29/24 morning from Port Aransas on the scat cat. When we left the jetty’s the water was so rough the 2 1/2 hr trip was horrible! My wife and I sat a the front of the boat a got beat up by the water and rough boat ride! The water was so rough that we couldn’t get up and move around! People were screaming, wet, sick laying inside on the bunks! The crew was not very helpful at that time either! We will need take another trip on these boats!!
June 29, 2024. The morning trip on the Scat Cat was by far the WORST experience it was horrible. We were greeted by a young man that warned us not to throw up in the bathrooms, but to please puke over the side and where the life jackets are located. thats it. It would have been nice to know that the waves were enormous that day off shore, and maybe dont sit up front and maybe put your cell phone in a plastic bag.
