It was great stepping foot onto the 6666 Ranch! After visiting the Ranch, I headed over to the Supply Store (Gift Shop) where the sharpest young ladies helped me with a few family souvenirs. The people are simply wonderful!
Really very little to see- but it very cool to see this as the working ranch that it is. See the famous chance to dance horse statue, the airport and offices.
I love a road trip... Went to the fort Worth stockyards then headed west to Guthrie to the famous... As seen on TV ranch... Not a whole lot to see as far as facilities... Staff in the supply store at the 6666 super nice and formative... Some great history right there.... I daydreamed a lot to think about what it would be like to be a pioneer long ago in that area... I stopped all the historical spots... That area is very remote, ... I headed Northeast to the Doan's crossing monument overlooking the Red River. Then Altus then... read more
Never toured it, but my nephew’s car broke down at the little rest stop outside of it in Guthrie. All of the horses were out in the field by the rest stop. Their calmness, power, grace, and beauty really turned down my stress level watching them while figuring out what to do with his car. I’m appreciative of them and that they were there. I would not mind touring there at all, now that I know about the place.
My brother wanted to stop here on our trip across Texas. I’m not a Yellowstone watcher so I had no clue. But what a cool little spot! Definitely worth the stop!
