Brought our horse here for colic with a twisted colon we got told we can open her up and see how bad it is for $10,000 that soon ended up to be $13,500 with a 50/50 chance of living they opened her up said everything was good it didn’t look bad they put her in the icu next to a horse that had Salmonella they put ice bags on her feet fresh water one the staff braided her hair she got fluids was doing great was up to 75% chance of living then that went quickly to 25% she was doing worse her color was fading on her body she was... read more

Highly recommend Dr. Ashbrook, she took incredible care our horse for a scary eye infection that got carried away. Our horse Bling ended up staying at the clinic for a few weeks, and received great care by the entire staff. Thank you Dr. Ashbrook / Brazos Valley Equine Staff
This is a long story if you're interested if not I would recommend BVEH everyday of the week based on the care we received. On March 25th we bought a 13 year old belgian mare from a killpen in Oklahoma, in April she arrived to us and went into qt. Mouse as we've named her traveled from an Amish home in Ohio and entered the auction ring before landing in Oklahoma and into our home. Update 2025: had a mare choke and the staff was great AGAIN. Professional, nice, explained everything very clearly for us. 2023: Had an emergency and the doctor and staff were amazing. They did more than I expected to diagnose and help us work through our options. Highly recommend and I think we will move all our wellness and preventative care to Brazos Valley.
