I was referred to Amarillo Pain Institute by my neurosurgeon for pain management after cervical and thoracic surgery. I have had 4 visits and every one has had an issue. The PA Izzy is a joke. First visit with her she was bouncing up and down off the stool, telling me I needed to go back to neuro and tell him to do more surgery. I explained that I was not going to do that. Been going here for years and I used to love it. They e changed doctors 3 times over the years and each has gotten worse as the changes occurred. Now they ran off the nurse practitioner who I absolutely loved. I have only had apts with the new one twice and she seems very good. For the 3rd time in a row I’ve woken up and was very conscious during sedation as they were injecting my spine and burning the nerves in it. 1st time my mother had a procedure here they over sedated her and reversed the narcotic without observation of vitals. 2nd visit and sedation RN wasn’t available her rhizotomy was painful and I could hear her screaming in procedure room. Not impressed with this place! Mom doesn’t recommend rhizotomy with Valium 5mg ONLY…..
The compassion and care I have received here has been incredible! Dr Lee, Izzy and Kathy have been incredible. When I started treatment there I was having horrific back pain and their plan of care has helped me more then I could put into words. Prior to seeing Dr Lee I went to the other guys 1 time plus a pain injection which lasted 24 hours.
Brendan took care of me when I came in for injections. I was so anxious. And he was so kind and understanding. I don’t think I could’ve made it through it without his reassurance. He took care of every need that I had and I appreciate him so much. He showed so much compassion and understanding.
